The Ichiban Engineering 2JZ / 1JZ Billet Rear Oil Seal Retainer Carrier is designed to solve one of the most frustrating problems in high-performance JZ builds — rear main seal failure.
 
Machined from aerospace-grade 6061 billet aluminum, this carrier replaces the factory cast component with a far stronger and more precise solution. The result is improved structural rigidity, better sealing reliability, and long-term durability even in high-horsepower applications.
 
During development, we focused on a critical issue common in high-performance engines: rear main seals being pushed out under crankshaft movement or high crankcase pressure. To eliminate this problem, our carrier features an integrated billet tab retention system that mechanically locks the rear main seal in place. These billet tabs prevent the seal from walking out of the housing — a common cause of catastrophic oil leaks in high-power builds.
